After writing for various newspapers for roughly four years, specializing in research and science, I left journalism to do public relations work for a federal natural resources agency in Lincoln, Nebraska. I can't believe how quickly 20 years has flown by. I live in the suburbs of Houston with my husband, Rob, and our two daughters, Maya (4 and 3/4) and Sofia (8 months). After graduating from the Univ. of Texas, we stayed in Austin until 2000, moved to San Francisco for a year and a half, and then moved here to Houston, where we've been for the past seven years. I've spent my career in brand marketing and advertising with great ad agencies as well as client-side (spent 3 years as marketing director in the NBA) and now freelance as a marketing consultant to be able to spend more time with family. Looking forward to getting back in touch and possibly seeing everyone next summer! |

I was not prepared for college however so I quit and went to work at St Louis bread Company. I worked at the one at Metcalf location and then moved to the one at 83rd and Mission. I grew tired of the restaurant and started working at Computer City. After several years in helpdesk support I ended up at National Cinema Network and the help Desk Administrator. In 2003 my job at NCN was eliminated and I move to the Parent company American Multi-Cinema. In 2005 again my job was eliminated and I was laid off. I took several dead end temp jobs and a part time job a Mr. Goodcents while finishing my bachelor’s degree at Park University. I finished in the fall of 2007 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. I worked for Goodcents for two years at 107th and Roe. I saw a few of our fellow class mates and one of our teachers (Sam Brewster) while at Mr. Goodcents. I got really burned out and it showed and I was let go at the end of august last year. I have been looking on where I can apply my degree. I would like to get into project management for a construction company. I have always like building things. I have applied for both union and non-union apprenticeship as a carpenter. I have also started my own handyman business. I love houses and I’m very passionate about the building and repair of them. So if anyone needs help with their house let me know.
I regret not going to the main event at the last reunion. I look forward to seeing every one. |

So, what have I been doing for the past 20 years?! I attended KSU and graduated with my Elementary Education degree. A week after graduation (1993), I married David Stadler, whom I met my freshman year! I taught Kindergarten and First Grade for 5 years, then moved into the Early Childhood field as I was hired at Johnson County Community College. I have been working on campus at the Hiersteiner Child Development Center for the past 9 years. I teach Continuing Education classes on campus as well. While working at JCCC, I worked on my Masters Degree at UMKC. I finished my Masters in 2006 in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. In the midst of all of that, I had two beautiful babies! Ben, who is now 10 years old, and Sydney, who is now 6 years old! In the past few years, I found a passion in international Missions, and have been to Thailand two times now and am planning another trip this fall. The focus of these trips is helping to protect the children from the child prostitution industry and to spread the Gospel! |

Life is good so I can't complain but I am still wondering when we turned into the adults... Anyway, have fun and feel free to look me up if you are ever in the beautiful Northwest! I live in a suburb of Portland, Oregon with my husband Bill. We've been married for 12 years and we have two kids, Rachel (7) and William (2). They are both sweet funny little people who keep us busy and bring us more joy than I have words for. My husband(who is the best wife in the world) stays home with our kids and I work in one of the Automation departments at Intel Corporation doing system support, troubleshooting and training. I'm sorry to miss the reuion but it's been fun to read about what classmates have been up to! |
