I am living and working in Overland Park. My wife Julie and I have two very rambunctious little boys. I have an irrational fear of yard gnomes, lawn jockeys and their owners, actually I fear gnomes in general. I like to fish (only because I can get a tan without getting bored). 2 interesting facts about me-I work at a place where the employees aren't allowed to wear sandals because someone might bite your toes off and I have the largest collection of canned meat products in the entire southwest.  Also, I haven't had a drink in 11 years. Hey there everyone!  Well, original as it may sound, I headed to KU for college, got a degree in Art History and decided to a take a few years off before getting my Masters.  I cooked in a few restaurants in Lawrence and KC and realized how much I'd always loved it.  Moved to San Francisco in '96 to go to the California Culinary Academy and worked as a pastry chef in a few great restaurants there.  (I've got some really funny stories about a lot of celebrities I met, if you want to hear them at the reunion!)  SF got a little small after a while, and I was missing the Midwest, so back in '02, I moved to Chicago.  I've been here ever since working in restaurants and for the past 3 years have been working in the Learning & Development department of an international restaurant company.  I'm teaching chefs and managers all over the world how to not make the same mistakes I made!  I'm still single (well, with restaurant hours, who isn't?)...  However, I recently met up with the love of my life, someone I met 14 years ago in Lawrence, and it's like we were never apart.  What fun to feel like I'm 16 again!  Can't wait to see everyone.  Take care!

During my college years (at KU) I spent my summers working at a camp in Arkansas, where I met my husband (a K-Stater).  We will be married 14 years.  We lived in KC initially, where I was a Speech Pathologist for 5 years at St. Joseph Health Center.  In 2000, we moved to Manhattan, KS.  We enjoy living in a small college town.  We have two children, Grace (10) and Ben (8).  I am a stay-at-home mom, homeschooled my kids for 3 years, and will soon be adopting.  Looking forward to seeing everyone!

As I was reading all of the updates and looking at the pictures,  I kept thinking you all look the same as you did when we were in high school. But after looking at the posts from senior day and graduation, I am wondering who those young kids are!  Eighteen just keeps getting younger and younger.

Let's see--I have been married for almost 5 years to my fabulous husband, Lee.  We actually met in 1993, during my senior year of undergrad, but we didn't want to rush into anything, so we didn't get married until 2004.  We are blessed with two amazing kiddos, our son Reid, who is almost two and a half, and our daughter Riley, who is a year and a half!  Things are pretty crazy at our house, but more fun than we could ever imagine.  

I graduated from KU Law in 1996, and I am currently a partner at Polsinelli Shugart in Kansas City, focusing on estate planning and business law.

Hey all.  After graduating from Oklahoma Christian University with a BS in electrical engineering, I moved to Tulsa, OK to work in the Telecom industry for Worldcom (now MCI).  After 3 years in Tulsa, I moved to Columbus, OH to work for a new telecom startup called Nextlink (now XO).  Three years later I took a job with Cisco Systems working as a Systems (Sales) Engineer.  I was with Cisco for only 1 year before taking a job with Sonus Networks, which is where I’ve been for the last 8+ years.  I’ve been married for 6 years now and have two 4 ½ year olds.  Twins!  A boy, Zachary, and a girl, Hannah.  Look forward to seeing everybody in June.

After my "career" at KU I headed to Hilton Head Island, SC to "find myself".  I never quite found myself there but sure had fun trying!  I came back to KC and met my future husband, Walt (SM North '89 grad).    
 
We got married in 1999.  We have a daughter, Bella who is 6 and a son, Barrett who is 15 months.  We live in Leawood....Lancer country!

I have worked in the financial industry for 13 years (UBS and now Morgan Stanley) but went part-time after having my daughter in 2003.  

I am fortunate enough to call my high school friends my best friends to this day.  This has allowed (or caused) us to remain at the same maturity level we were at 20 years ago...sometimes that can be a problem.

So excited to see EVERYONE in June!!!!
